Beach Party Decorations
Saturday, July 11th, 2009Nothing says summer like a beach party, having a beach nearby is a huge plus although a backyard pool party with the right beach party decorations can make a great substitute.
The first thing you will want to think about when planning a beach party is the invitations. You can opt to buy your invitations pre made, but it is always a great touch to make your own and will prepare your guests minds and let them know how much fun they are in for.
Some ideas for handmade invitations include cutting your invitations out in the shapes of beach sandal’s, you might also consider shapes such as beach umbrellas or surfboards. Invite the guests to wear beach clothes such as shorts, bikini’s or sarongs.
Set the mood as the guests arrive by having some beach themed music playing in the background. You might try the old favorite such as the Beach Boys or something more modern such as the B-52′s. You can also get a soundtrack of beach sounds to play in the background that include seagull cries and tug boat horns.
Beach Party Decorations could include real surfboards placed in strategic locations, inflatable palm trees, seashells, or anything that will create an idea of being at the beach. Tiki torches for night time always invoke thoughts of being at the beach, you can also try hanging some tiki masks around the party site.
Try creating some unique table centerpieces by using a plastic pail half filled with sand and on top of the sand layered with sun tan lotion a small shovel, beach toys or flip flops. You might even include this as a prize for one of your games.
Beach entertainment can include games such as horseshoes, limbo contests, hula contest, volleyball or hackey sack. Pinata’s stuffed with beach themed toys are great fun for any ages. Having a few beach balls blown up and scattered around the party site for guests to pick up and toss around.
Food suggestions include fresh fruit salads, fruit kabobs, barbecue or shish kabobs. Finger foods such as hamburgers, hot dogs, or chicken teriyaki are also huge hits.
You will always want to include alcoholic beverages (adult parties) as well as non-alcoholic beverages. Beach cocktails include Mai Tais, Margaritas, or ice cold beer, don’t forget the paper umbrellas for some beach party decorations. Non-Alcoholic drinks can be tropical fruit punch with fresh fruit floating in the punch bowl.
There are many great themes that you can go for in choosing the correct beach party decorations. Hawaiian Luau, Sailing, or Pirate Parties are just a few ideas that you can build on.
Whatever you decide to do and the beach party decorations you utilize, your guests are sure to be impressed and leave having had a great time.
Beach parties are great for all occasions from Beach themed birthday parties to Beach themed weddings.
