Planning to buy an event tent is a big step. Some of the advantages are obviously saving money on rental fees. If you or your company have frequent parties, meetings or get togethers, it could be a very wise choice. There are several things that you need to have in mind before making a purchase. In your event planning checklist what do you plan on accomplishing at your event? The biggest question would be how many guests will be at this event? Will it be a sit down or a social? Will there be a meal served? Will there be entertainment?
How Many Guests?
The general guidelines for how big a tent you will need are as follows: Allow a minimum of ten feet around the perimeter of the tent for setup. That means if you order a 20’X20’ tent, the area you need for installation is 30’X30’. You want to set aside 15 square feet per person for sit down dinners. 10 square feet per person for Buffet dinners. You will need 8 square feet per person for assemblies. Now these are just general guidelines and you always want to estimate up, it is much better to have too much space than not enough.
